Sami Satin
Sami Satin is the founder of Strong Earth, a nature based program rooted in connection, confidence, and real-world learning.
Her work is driven by a deep belief that children are capable, curious, and meant to learn through direct experience, not just instruction. Over the past decade, Sami has worked with children of all ages, from early childhood through adolescence, guiding and managing educational programs that support confidence, resilience, and a meaningful relationship with the natural world.
Her path has been shaped by a lifelong connection to the outdoors. Growing up exploring the foothills of Los Angeles, she followed that curiosity into years spent hiking, camping, foraging, and building wilderness skills in the Cascade Mountains. This personal relationship with the land became the foundation for her work as an educator.
Professionally, Sami has guided and managed outdoor education programs, worked as a park ranger supporting trail maintenance, safety, and land stewardship, and managed a regenerative farm centered around community and sustainable food systems. Across all of these roles, her focus has remained the same, creating spaces where people can connect, to themselves, to each other, and to the earth.
Strong Earth is an extension of that vision a space where children are given the opportunity to move, explore, take risks, and grow into capable, grounded humans who feel at home in the natural world.
Dani Satin
Dani Satin is an educator at Strong Earth with a degree in Environmental Earth Science and a minor in Education from University of California, Berkeley.
Her work is rooted in a deep and lasting connection to Bay Area ecology. Over the years, she has spent time exploring, observing, and learning from the landscapes of this region, developing not only a strong understanding of the natural world, but a genuine relationship with it. This connection shapes the way she teaches, bringing a sense of place, awareness, and care into every experience with children.
Dani has a natural gift for working with kids. She brings a calm, grounded, and attentive presence to the group, meeting each child where they are and creating an environment where they feel safe to explore, take risks, and grow. Her warmth and genuine care help children feel seen and supported, while her curiosity and enthusiasm invite them to engage more deeply with the world around them.
